Step back in time and experience the original 1988 Seacrets at the restaurant and bar’s new location, coming to Chincoteague Island in 2024.
According to owner Leighton Moore, customers have been longing for the original Seacrets to make a grand return. Now, Moore, who opened the Jamaican-themed Seacrets initially as a locals-only tiki bar in Ocean City, is going back to the basics at his second Delmarva location.
Located bayside at the southwest end of the island, the new site will be modeled off the Seacrets of the late 1980s and consist of a small tiki bar, small rock bar, carryout station, restaurant and boutique.
In addition to the building itself, the menu will be a smaller scale. However, many of the restaurant’s popular dishes, including oysters, jerk chicken and fried chicken, will appear, Moore said.
One distillery is enough, Moore said. He does not plan to build another on-site in Chincoteague. The restaurant’s hours will be shortened as well, with nights predicted to end by 11 p.m. Entertainment will be limited, with no national or late-night bands.

Moore intends for guests to feel as if they are on island time as they sample the food and sip drinks under the shade of tall palm trees, a signature feature of the original restaurant.
Moore says he is fond of the quiet, Chincoteague community.
“I’m building to add to the community, and not subtract by building it oversized,” Moore said. “I’m doing this for Chincoteague, as an amenity, not a feature. It’s going to fit the size of the community and will not be a sore thumb.”
