Anantara Layan Phuket Resorts’ culinary pop-ups are fast becoming an integral part of Phuket’s dining scene, offering diners interesting and alternative culinary experiences. Don’t miss out on an exciting month-long pop-up with the most famous of Sri Lankan restaurants in August.  

Appearing at The Beach House for the whole month of August is Sri Lanka’s most celebrated restaurant, Ministry of Crab, the creation of celebrated chef and restauranteur, Dharshan Munidasa who has put Sri Lanka on the global culinary map. Phuket foodies can savour a five-course dinner set menu for only THB2900++ per person prepared by chef Dharshan.  

Ministry of Crab ranked 35th on “Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2022” offers diners a chance to savour the finest and freshest Sri Lankan lagoon crabs and giant freshwater prawns. Sri Lanka’s lagoon crabs weighing up to 3kg are much bigger than average crabs and are sought after for their distinctive sweet flavour and succulence.  

Course highlights include the Garlic Chilli Prawns and the Pepper Crab – the lagoon crabs are cooked in a pepper broth together with whole and hand-crushed Sri Lankan black peppercorns, resulting in an aromatic, mildly sweet and spicy sauce that perfectly complements the crab. Dessert is coconut creme brulee which is baked in a coconut shell with rich coconut milk. ?
